Chester seeks court order against alleged Arriva predation

Press notice from Chester City Council announcing that it has begun High Court proceedings under the Competition Act 1998 against the bus company Arriva, seeking an order requiring Arriva to deregister services that it plans to operate in competition with Chester City Transport, the incumbent bus company. Chester City Transport is owned by the Council and currently being auctioned off. Chester appears to be alleging that Arriva's conduct is predatory and has anti-competitive effects on the sale process. This Bus and Coach News article has some further details.
