Competition complaint against Ofwat and Bristol Water

Summary (2 pages, PDF) of an appeal brought in the Competition Appeal Tribunal by Independent Water Company Limited against Ofwat. The notice outlines Bristol Water's alleged conduct in negotiations for a bulk supply agreement for a greenfield site, which Independent Water claims amounted to a pattern of exclusionary abuse including margin squeeze, delay and procrastination. Ofwat has refused to investigate the complaint seemingly on the grounds that Independent Water had withdrawn its application for an inset appointment, but Independent Water claims that this withdrawal was the result of Bristol Water's alleged exclusionary abuses. Intervention requests by Wednesday 15 February 2006. See Water access CAT cases for further information on similar cases against Ofwat in the Tribunal.
