OFT happy with Darlington two-to-one bus merger

OFT decision (8 pages, PDF) clearing Arriva's acquisition of Stagecoach's bus operations in Darlington.

Arriva is the main operator and Stagecoach was the its current competitor, with 21 overlapping flows.

The OFT considered that competitive pressures from the possibility of new entry were sufficient, as network effects appeared to be immaterial and Arriva Darlington does not have a reputation for retaliating against new entrants.
