No 2006/2007 price cap for GB electricity system operator

Ofgem press notice (2 pages, PDF) stating that Ofgem will not refer the 2006/2007 price control for National Grid's GB electricity system operator business to the Competition Commission, and instead will apply the default cost-pass-through scheme for external costs specified in the licence. This is in response to National Grid's rejection of Ofgem's price control proposals for 2006/2007. Ofgem intends to develop a new incentive scheme for National Grid's internal and external balancing costs to come into force from April 2007.
