OFT makes predatory abuse decision against Cardiff Bus

OFT announcement (about 2 pages) that it has made a decision under the Competition Act 1998 that Cardiff Bus has abused a dominant position in 2004 and 2005 through predatory conduct. The decision document is to be published “shortly”.

Cardiff Bus is too small to be subject to an OFT fine: the only direct commercial effect of the decision seems to be to facilitate a potential claim for damages by the liquidators of 2 Travel, the operator at which the alleged predatory conduct had been directed.

A statement of objections in this case had been announced in May 2007.
