Revised Commission proposal for de minimis State aid

DG Competition consultation (12 pages, PDF) on a revised draft regulation for exempting State aid below certain thresholds from the notification and approval requirements. The revised proposal is wider than the text consulted on in March 2006: the new draft proposes a doubling of the main threshold below which aid is deemed to be de minimis from euro 100,000 to euro 200,000, and a new exemption for loan guarantees relating to a capital value of up to euro 1.7 million, provided that the guarantee does not cover more than 80 per cent of the loan. Aid is not deemed to be de minimis if it is given in respect of a project that also receives State aid authorised by the Commission or under a block exemption. Responses by Friday 20 October 2006.
