Proposed price control exemption for BritNed interconnector

Ofgem consultation (45 pages, PDF) proposing to approve an application by BritNed (a National Grid/TenneT joint venture) for a 25-year exemption from the regulated third party access requirements and from Article 6(6) of Regulation 1228/2003, which restricts the interconnector operator's ability to take profits from "revenues resulting from the allocation of interconnection".

Ofgem has also published BritNed's application (63 pages, PDF) and a report (15 pages, PDF) commissioned by BritNed to support its view that the competition conditions for an exemption are met.
