AstraZeneca UK appoints AAH and Unichem as distributors

Announcement that AstraZeneca has appointed AAH (Celesio) and Unichem (Alliance Boots) as its agency partners to distribute medicines in the UK. The arrangement is said to "simplify and modernise the existing supply arrangements" and is to be implemented in late summer 2007. This is presumably another deal for the OFT to look at in its market study of pharmaceutical wholesaling. AAH is one of the complainants against Pfizer's exclusive deal with Unichem.
