Grand Central service to start 20 May 2007 with HSTs

Grand Central press notice confirming the purchase of three High Speed Train sets (i.e. six class 43 locomotives and an undisclosed number of Mark III cars) from Porterbrook to operate its Sunderland-York-London service from 20 May 2007, after refurbishment. This "interim" rolling stock is due to be replaced by new-build 140mph stock in 2010. Grand Central has abandoned attempts to enter into a short-term sub-lease for rolling stock to start services on 10 December 2006.
