Railway inflation: Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine rail line
Scottish Executive press notice on the funding for the re-opening of 13 miles of existing, disused and abandonned railway between Sitrling and Longannet Power Station and the construction of a new station in Alloa town centre. This is to enable coal traffic to Longannet and passenger services between Alloa, Stirling and Glasgow Queen Street. The funding requirement appears to have gone up by £27.6 million from the £30 million expected in 2003.
