French collecting society competition case
Decision (PDF, 19 pages, in French) of the Conseil de la concurrence accepting undertakings from the société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques (SACD) to amend its membership rules with effect from 1 January 2006 in order to address competition concerns. The changes will allow more flexibility for authors who wish to manage rights to certain works or rights in certain territories by themselves whilst remaining members of SACD.
