End of investigation into free London newspaper distribution

OFT notice reporting that, after considering responses to its consultation for more than 26 weeks, the OFT has accepted commitments by Associated Newspapers (the publisher of the London Metro free morning newspaper) in relation to the use of railway stations and other facilities for the distribution of free newspapers in the London area, and closed its investigation into a possible abuse of a dominant position or the possible illegality of the distribution agreements following the repeal of the vertical exclusion from 1 May 2005.

Update: reasoned decision (32 pages, PDF).
