National Express allowed full control of Midland Metro
OFT decision (10 pages, PDF) not to refer to the Competition Commission National Express' acquisition of full ownership of the Altram LRT consortium operating the Midland Metro, despite overlaps with National Express' TWM buses and Central Trains. The OFT found that National Express had had effective control of the Midland Metro for several years before buying out its partners Laing and Ansaldo, so that there could be no lessening of competition from the buy-out.
