Next steps in Albion Water v Ofwat (Shotton) case

Competition Appeal Tribunal ruling (7 pages, PDF) setting out the next steps in the Albion Water / Welsh Water (Shotton) case. The Tribunal encourages an out-of-court settlement, and expresses surprise at the possible suggestion that the Water Act 2003 may have made market competition through common carriage more difficult.

A formal order (3 pages, PDF) sets out the timetable. A full transcript of the 24 October 2006 hearing (88 pages, PDF) has also been released. The next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday 14 November 2006. The deadline for Ofwat or Welsh Water to seek permission to appeal the October 2006 CAT judgment is Friday 17 November 2006.
