NHS reference costs 2004/2005

Department of Health publication of the NHS reference costs for 2004/2005 in a set of six Excel tables and a summary and overview (8 pages, PDF). The data include unit costs, length of stay and level of activity for NHS Trusts and PCTs, and information on unit costs for personal medical services and pilot sites and for non-NHS providers. For NHS Trusts and PCTs, the data also include the reference cost index, a measure of the average cost of a provider's activity compared with what they would have been if they had been delivered at the national average cost. The 2004/2005 reference costs were used as the basis to compute the 2006/2007 national tariff for payment by results.
