OFT clearance of Govia / South Eastern Trains

OFT decision (7 pages, PDF) not to refer Govia's acquisition of the Integrated Kent passenger rail franchise (Southeastern Railway, ex South Eastern Trains) to the Competition Commission. There are some overlaps with Govia's other rail franchise (Southern) and with Go-Ahead bus operations (apparently almost all under contract to TfL or another local authority), but the OFT accepted Govia's submissions that there had been no real prospect of competition between these and Southeastern whilst in separate ownership. The franchise contract came into operation on 1 April 2006.
