Agbar's acquisition of Bristol Water

Ofwat consultation (13 pages, PDF) on the regulatory implications of the acquisition of Bristol Water by Grupo Agbar (Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona), a listed Spanish water company with a major shareholder jointly owned by La Caixa and Suez. Ofwat proposes to seek the usual parent company undertakings from Agbar but not from any of its shareholders, and does not suggest any other licence modifications. The document reports Agbar's assurances that neither it nor any of its principal shareholders has any current interests in other water or water and sewerage companies in England and Wales.
