Possible slight broadening of IFI and RPZ funding
Ofgem consultation (5 pages, PDF) on the future of the innovation funding initiative and renewable power zones. These schemes provide uplifts to electricity distribution price limits in respect of certain research or development activities undertaken by distribution companies, in particular in respect of the management of distributed generation. The possibility of a similar arrangement is under consideration in the transmission price control review.
Some possible relaxation of the conditions for the schemes is suggested, but Ofgem does not consider that there is a need for radical changes.
