No evidence of discriminatory handling of connections by EDF

Ofgem decision (6 pages, PDF) to end an investigation into EDF's handling of new connections to its electricity distribution networks. Despite a complaint by an independent distribution network operator, Ofgem found no evidence of systematic discrimination between EDF's own connections business and its competitors in terms of provision of information or technical solutions for the non-contestable part of the connections work.

The investigation was conducted exclusively in terms of the non-discrimination licence condition. The complaint does not appear to have alleged that EDF's conduct was also in breach of the Competition Act 1998 as an exclusionary abuse.
