Update on BBC Governors' radio archive consultation

Update to the BBC Governors' October 2005 consultation document on proposals to make the BBC's archive of radio programmes more widely available, through joint ventures and licensing of radio content to commercial radio networks. The update provides an overview of the responses to the consultation and indications of next steps. The Governors believe that there is no clear consensus at this stage to support the BBC implementing the proposals. They plan to reconsider the proposals in 2006 as part of a wider review of BBC policy towards the use of the BBC archive. Individual responses to the consultation have also been published online.
