Communications Act 2003
The Communications Act 2003 transferred regulatory powers over a wide range of telecommunications, broadcasting and electromagnetic spectrum matters to Ofcom, a new combined regulator.
It also implemented the EU's 2003 regulatory framework for electronic communications in the UK, and amended the Enterprise Act 2002 to provide a specific regime for the control of media mergers.
