Performance incentive regimes
We have experience of the economic regulation of service quality, whether in the context of price controls or franchising.

Our expertise
Our advice on service level regulation has included detailed economic analyses of incentive schemes for quality of service improvements and for reduction in costs and improvement in efficiency.
Our contribution to the design and implementation of these schemes ranges all the way from high-level policy and economic analysis through to legal and algebraic drafting.
Industry-specific knowledge
We are familiar with the following schemes:
- Schedule 4 (possessions) and Schedule 8 (delays) in GB rail track access agreements.
- The information and incentive project (IIP) schemes for customer interruptions and customer minutes lost in GB electricity distribution.
- The formula for determining the contributions to Good Causes made by the National Lottery operator Camelot.
Our industry knowledge in electricity, rail and water enables us to work on other incentive schemes in these sectors with a minimal learning curve.
